Obituary of Catherine (Isobel) Rainey

Isobel Rainey, formerly of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Isobel was born in Swift Current, SK on March 4, 1929.  She grew up in Pangman, SK but called Calgary home for most of her life.

Isobel, and husband Gordon Grayston, enjoyed working with youth and fostered many children over the years. Although she raised several champion show dogs through her Belgray kennels, she always had a special place in her heart for her cats.

Isobel accomplished much in her life but was particularly proud of her work with her friend Ralph Klein, first on his mayoral campaign and later, on his run for premier.

Isobel is survived by her grandchildren, Neil (Alicia) Grayston of New Westminster, BC, Billy Harper of Kelowna, BC, and Justine and Melissa Harper of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her sister, Betty-Anne Doucette of Abbotsford, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Isobel was predeceased by her parents, Cliff and Katherine, brother Keith, husband Gordon Grayston and her loving son William Grayston.
