Condolences
Sympathies to Carol's family. She had a great smile, sense of humour and a kind heart. Great memories from dental school of Carol sitting in the cubicle across from me in the dental clinic.
We are thinking of you all at this difficult time. Carol was such a warm soul and so important to so many. She was sensible, funny, and always had a great outlook on life. I remember her words of encouragement and advice for Mike and I when we graduated from dental school and came to begin a practice in Calgary. She said - just treat your patients with dignity and respect and your practice will flourish. She was a mentor as a colleague, but also as an older cousin. Her calm wisdom and tasteful wit made being with her a pleasure. She will be greatly missed. Our hearts and prayers are with you all.
Love, Sandra and Mike Pannell

Dear Jim and family,
I am so sorry to read Carol’s passing. I remember Carol’s wonderful wit, compassion as a dentist and letting me work with her when her hygienist was on maternity leave. I respected her professionalism. Her dedication to you and your family was bar none. Always so fun to be around. Treasure those memories as they are love’s lasting legacy.

Jim, I had not seen you in years until Farquhar's graduation get together.
Did not take long to share stories from original meeting in '77 on the Pamplona-Sitges train to similar current events .
Never met Carol; i know your strength and stability will guide family and friends through this challenge.

Carol made bookclub all the more enjoyable. What a humorous and intelligent woman. Her beautiful red hair and insights creates an atmosphere that encouraged curiosity and sometimes irreverence (with wink). I will miss her. So sorry for your loss.

My condolences to all the family. We grew up across the street from The Wappels on Parkwood Rd. I didn't know Carol as much as I knew Marilyn and Gerard, but I do remember her being such a nice person.
Dear Jim Jamie Sarah Phil
Brian Sheila Gerard and Marilyn,
Carol and I met in our first year in Dental school and became lifelong friends. Carol very generously shared her Wappel cottage and many weekends while we were in school were spent there on the boat, waterskiing and enjoying Carol’s signature Margaritas..
I loved Carol for her deep loving family connection, determination, strong moral ethics and sharp wit. She was always fiercely proud of her parents and siblings. Carol was very committed to her children, Jamie Sarah and Phil, and she supported their education and activities with great dedication.
We shared many trips to continuing education courses and Carol always made sure those were unforgettable experiences with her skill at finding great restaurants and fun activities.
I always admired her strong, unwavering ethical professionalism in Dental school and in the years she practised in Calgary. Carol was very exacting in her care of her dental patients and many of her patients became great friends.
I am so sad for your loss of the most beautiful Carol but am sure her pain and suffering is now relieved. In my heart she will always be on the slopes of Lake Louise and at her favourite place, the Post.
With deepest condolences,
Loreen Larson
Although it has been many years, I will always remember Carol as being a warm, kind, loving woman with a huge smile. My sincere sympathies to the Wapple family, her children and Jim. May God grant you comfort and healing.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Carol’s passing today. We attended High School at Marian and shared many of the same classes, and sports teams together. I will remember Carol fondly as a friendly, compassionate and brilliant student/person. I can still hear her laugh. Life works in mysterious ways, but rest assured Carol make her mark on many. Such a shining light!
Rest In Peace Carol. Sending condolences to all Carol’s family.
Sincerely,
Monica Dowhaniuk (nee Moran)
Please allow me to extend my deepest condolences to you Jim, your children, her family and closest friends. Carol was not only my boss when I first moved to Alberta many years ago but she was a role model in my career as a hygienist. Her work ethic and pride is something that I still carry with my today. She was a true pioneer in our field and laid the foundation for how to run a dental practice long before it was mainstream. She sadly was not able to carry on her professional legacy but I still run into mutual patients and colleagues who pay compliments to her work and friendship.
My heart aches for all of you and the deep hole she has left behind. Lean on each other for support and know she is still watching and guiding you.
Peace be with you now Carol, as your pain is no longer.
You’ll forever be the best boss, colleague, mentor and friend to many of of us you had the privilege to work for you. God be with you.
This is a great loss to all of us who had the privilege of knowing Carol. She was always warm, friendly and generous and genuinely interested in other people. I have very fond memories of Carol, and I am personally indebted to her for giving me the opportunity to create many personal items for her and her family and for her many referrals. She was a beautiful soul and will be missed. My deepest condolences to all your family.

I remember Carol as a warm, hospitable, highly intelligent woman with an admirable sense of humour and an appreciation of a well-lived life. Despite her travails, she persevered with strength of purpose, resilience, and amazing grace. The enjoyment of a glass of fine wine with family and friends surely helped. May Carol rest in well-deserved peace.
My sincere sympathies to Jim and family.
Respectfully,
Ted Brown
