Mum,
You were a loving and compassionate person. Thank you for your wisdom, guiding advice, listening, support, humour and strength. I really enjoyed many visits and memories, especially the impromptu ones where there was a click against the side lite window. Thank you for all the love.

Nana, I will miss you so much. But I am so grateful for all the wonderful memories we have shared. We were so much more than a granddaughter and grandmother - we were friends.
It's funny to look back and think that at my sweet sixteen birthday party, when most teenagers would be concerned with typical teenage drama, all I cared about was that my Nana was at my party. It was a non negotiable for me. That's because everything was better when you were there.
Whether it was basketball games, dance recitals, school plays... I always wanted you there, and you always were, so thank you for that. Thank you for always bringing a warm Nana hug, a perfectly timed witty comment, a random historical fact, and an adorable little laugh at every family gathering. You were one of those people that was always comforting to have around, and you were always willing to be there. Those are the best kind of people and I'm so lucky you were in my life for as long as you were.
One of my favourite memories, was years ago, when I was feeling in a lost place, and was a bit heartbroken back in my 20s. I wanted to get out of town. I picked you up, and we took a trip to Banff. We had the best time, and spent the entire time talking, laughing, sharing stories and it was such a happy and love-filled day. You had such an appreciation in life for the simple things, and appreciating your surroundings, It was always so contagious, and I loved being around you because it centred me and made me a better person. You were comforting, and just a safe space for me whenever I needed it. And you always made me laugh. I always knew how wise you were but you never felt older than me - it always just kind of felt like we were two twin souls who genuinely enjoyed spending time together and I am so grateful for that.
You would be thrilled to know that so many of your wonderful traits live on in your great grand daughter. Anytime I experience my little girl's undeniable wit, or see her interest in learning, reading, and birds - I think of you.
I love you so much, and I will miss you forever. Now you can peacefully rest. xox

Mom,
I will miss you so much. I told you how much I loved you the last time I saw you. You are now at peace. Always know how much you will be missed but how grateful I am for all you did for me.

Nana my sweet. You blessed me with such wonderful traits and love from day one, and helped shaped me into the man I am today. I will forever miss your sense of humour, your hugs and kisses, our bonded love for Frank Sinatra and your compassion. You will be sorely missed, and I know that heaven has itself a true angel. Love you forever and always. Your loving grandson, Beau xoxoxo
