Gary had many facets to his life, and he loved them all. His career was very important to him. The years he worked as the Accounting Manager at Engineered Air were so rewarding for him. He truly loved the company and everyone he worked with. He was an impeccable dresser and they called him “Mr. Shiny Shoes” as he polished them every morning!

Gary was a talented athlete. He excelled at every sport he played. He was a high school football star on the Aden Bowman Huskies, a valued member of the Clams hockey team, an expert skier, and an exceptional golfer. His annual golf weekend on “the Larry” tour truly was a highlight for him - the one special trip he looked forward to.

Gary took many cooking classes and became a great cook! It brought him so much joy to entertain family and friends leaving all in awe. Kim and Gary’s themed dinner parties were legendary as was his red sauce. Holidaying in France enhanced his passion for cooking and fine food.

Gary enjoyed music and loved to dance anywhere and anytime, as long as it was with Kim. Kim and Gary were the King and Queen of Stampede and tore up many dance floors with their two-step. Gary would slide across the dance floor like a pro.

Gary’s greatest joy was being a father. He loved and cherished his children, and they all adored him. He was always there to support them. The summer vacations at the Thompson cabin at White Bear were the fondest memories for Ryan, Kyle, Claire and many cousins. Summer vacations in France brought Gary so much joy he embraced every experience and built so many memories with Sydney.

Gary was a hockey, soccer, baseball, figure skating and dance dad! He drove many miles to attend all their events - always full of joy and excitement to cheer on his children. He coached Ryan and Kyle in hockey and tied up many pairs of skates. He waved at Claire from the stand at her soccer games; no matter how late it was she knew he was there. Taking Sydney to Saturday morning dance classes and attending dance competitions became his weekend routine. He loved it all.

Gary was an intelligent man who enjoyed people. His kindness and love touched so many. Gary’s loving, kind heart and his beautiful smile will be missed by us all.
