Our sincere condolences to Connie and extended family members on Marton's passing.
Marton was the first person that I worked for after arriving in Calgary in 1978. Marton hired me strictly on the basis of being from the east coast. Within short order he had hired my brother George and my brother in law Duncan. We all worked hard together on the Ace Paving Asphalt Crew for 2 seasons which to this day is a source of many timeless stories and anecdotes. Marton was very generous and kind with his advice and mentorship and I have fond memories of the many annual social events he and Connie hosted over the years especially for Matron's birthday.
He was a person who had a genuine Zest for life and will surely be missed.

My husband and I , for many years, enjoyed many social visits with Marton and his wife Connie , in Apache Wells. Marton loved P.E.I. to the end of his days. Marton reminded me that , if we want to change politics, the least we can do is get involved in whatever party you believe in. And, as Martin did, change your political support , to a different party , if your principles later align with another party. Martin was very generous in his support of many charities. As I write this on Giving Tuesday , I will make a donation in his memory.
My husband Al and I have known Marton and Connie in Apache Wells, AZ for 20 years. Marton would stop in with his cowboy boots, western attire and hat and entertain us for hours. His knowledge of just about everything was amazing, and it was always peppered with humorous stories. It's with sadness that those times are forever gone. There are so many memories of dinners, dances, and hiking with Connie. Sincere condolences to Connie and all his relatives. Marton was truly one of a kind.
