Darrin had a heart of gold, he was known for his humour, and took many people under his wing. He followed both the Catholic and Siksikaitapii ways of life and grew up with strong spirituality. He was a part of the Cursillo, pilgrimage and the Search movement. Darrin made his Cursillo in Enoch, AB, in 1993, with the theme song “I saw the Light”. Darren graduated high school at Old Sun College. He was a bus contractor and drove a bus for ten years with the Siksika Board of Education. Darrin earned his heavy-duty operator equipment certificate from NAIT and received his certificate for Child Youth Studies at Mount Royal College. He was a mechanic, construction builder and jack of all trades. Darrin played hockey in his younger years; he was a part of the Siksika Minor Hockey Association as a coach for numerous years. He enjoyed coaching, especially for his boys.
