Justin Low

Obituary of Justin Akira Low

March 11, 1984 – Calgary, Alberta

November 23, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Justin Low of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the age of 38 years; peacefully surrounded by his immediate family Jerry, Linda, Janine, Randal, and Kevan, at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB.

Justin was born and raised in Calgary, AB. He moved to Ontario where he attended Queen’s University in Kingston and graduated with dual Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry Sciences and Chemical Engineering with a Major in Biomedical Engineering. After university he moved to Toronto where he spent the next fifteen years working in finance as an investment banker, retiring from his career at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Justin moved back home to Calgary in April 2022 and spent the last few months of his life with his family.

Justin was a son, a brother, an uncle, a family member, a friend; and a generous, kind person that has left us too soon. He was incredibly intelligent, musically inclined, athletic, hard working, and had a great sense of humour. He enjoyed music, food, and all sports, from karate, to soccer, golf and hockey. It is those things that helped him decide his next trip and adventure throughout his life. He was a wonderful fun-loving person all around and his presence will always be with us. We will cherish the memories of him forever in our hearts.

“It’s something unpredictable but in the end, it’s right.

I hope you had the time of your life.”
