Condolences
When we think of Jerry two phrases come to mind - Cowboy Up and Getting Old Ain't For Sissies.
Jerry never complained about his health problems and faced the resulting challenges with humor and dignity.
An inspiration to us all!

I will always hold a special place in my heart for Grandpa Jerry. He and Grandma Edna are the reason I work in the field I do and they are the reason for my love of the country, horses, and caring for animals. I will cherish all of the memories I have forever. I miss you, I love you.
My wife, Sonja, (who passed away three years ago) and I loved this man and Ed. They were always so welcoming. Jerry, somehow always had time for humour and friendship.
I can express our feeling about him best by quoting this poem by Linda Ellis (with apologies for the changes).
The Dash
By Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
From beginning . . . to the end
He noted that the first the date of birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between the years.
For the dash represents all the time
They spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved them
Know what that little line was worth
For it matters not how much we own,
The cars . . the house . . the cash
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So now that Jerry's eulogy is being read, with his life’s actions to rehash,
Jerry can be proud of the things we say about how he lived his dash.

Our dear Ed..John and i are sad to hear of your lose. You chose a great picture of Jerry as you can see the joy in his eyes. This is how we remember him too. always a happy soul, welcoming us on our drop in visits on the ranchs you owned in the Caroline area. We have such fond memories of the time we spent with both of you, if only for short visits as you jetted off somewhere warm and we slugged thru the snow during many November hunting seasons from your guest house. i drove by your old place on Burnstick during hunting season 2022, and the memories of times spent visiting with you both, sharing a meal and a cocktail and a laugh and usually an overnight as we had too much fun with you both. these came rushing over me. our tours around your property on the side by side or a walk about , getting stuck in your driveway and needing a tractor pull out, the birthday bash in the guest house. You and Jerry have a place in our hearts forever. Sending love and hugs and our sincere condolences to you and your families. John and Tracy Greenwood
Always a pleasure to visit with you. You were a wonderful neighbour. Rest in peace.
