Helen Jane Kromm (nee Pollock), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at the age of 95 years.

Helen was born in Saskatoon, SK on December 8, 1927. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her involvement in community sports, her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Helen was also an active member in the community serving in many varied capacities.

Helen enjoyed watching TV and cheering on The Calgary Flames where she and her husband Ron were original season ticket holders in the old Corral. She loved sports, anything Calgary and nothing Edmonton.

Helen served as Sports Director and President of the South Calgary Community Association and was a Director of Glenlake hockey. Helen was an integral part in starting girls’ softball & hockey in the community.

Helen’s most memorable vacations were when she traveled back to the farm in Saskatchewan in the summertime. Helen was a devoted wife and homemaker and was an active member of the community. She will be most remembered for her passionate spirit.

Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Burke Kromm (Trudy); two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sherry Jane Kinoshita (Bill), Patti Kromm (Bert): five grandchildren, Douglas, Kimberly, Ryan, Jane, and Mark; five great-grandchildren, Chase, Avery, Ella, Bennett, and Luke; step-grandchildren, Jeff, and Greg. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Ronald Kromm, brothers, Murray and Lawrence; and sisters, Olive Bowes (Mervin), and Blanche Nichols (Clarence).

The family would also like to recognize all the girls who participated in sports and were coach by Helen Kromm. She always had a special place in her heart for their effort, class, and their competitive spirit. Thank you all.
