Obituary of Robert (Bob) John Ward

December 26, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Robert Ward of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

He was born on April 3, 1937 in Vanscoy, SK. He worked as a pressman for the newspapers in Saskatoon, SK, Victoria, B.C. and with the Calgary Herald newspapers in Calgary, AB where he resided until his retirement.

Bob is survived by his children, Jocelyn Snelling, Lisa Ward, and Owen Ward (Shelley); three grandchildren, Delvin (Chealsea), Delby, and Aiden; and great-grandchildren, Alya and Carter. He is also survived by his two sisters, Arlene of Saskatoon, and Janet of Calgary.  Bob was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Donna on April 13, 2022, his two brothers, Gordon in September 1935, and Harley in June 2015.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Ward’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
