Obituary of Norma Nevilline Kee

Norma Kee of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Norma was born Norma Nevilline Sproule in Camrose, AB on July 22, 1935, to Martina and Clara Sproule. Raised in Red Deer, Norma graduated from the Red Deer Composite High School.

Norma lived a full, and vibrant life. Her style and sophistication were her hallmark along with her passion for entertaining. Norma maintained a never wavering adoration of the Calgary Stampeders, the Calgary Flames, and Frank Sinatra. Her ever-young spirit and gentle ways will continue to be celebrated by those who loved her most, including her dearest friends Pat Suchorab and Phyllis Armitage.

Norma is survived by her sons, Terry Kee (Eunice German) of New Minas, NS, and Randall Kee (Sheryl) of Kentville, NS; and granddaughters, Lauren Kee of Halifax, and Emily Backman of Shelburne, NS. She is also survived by her sister in-law Maria Sproule; nieces, Lorinda Belzberg (Dr. Allan) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Patricia Jacoby (Dr. Michael) of Kamloops, BC; and nephew Greg Sproule (Gwen) of Dubai, UAE, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews. Norma was predeceased by her husband Gerry Kee, and brother Ken Sproule (Maria) of Red Deer, AB.

As per Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or service. Family and friends can visit the Queens Park Cemetery, 3219 4 St NW, Calgary, AB, where Norma’s cremated remains were spread together with her husband Gerry’s. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Norma’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. 

The family would like to express immense gratitude for the exceptional love and care Norma received while living at the Chinook Care Centre in Calgary.
