Obituary of Carole Joan Neelands (nee Hasler)

December 31, 1949 - Hamilton, Ontario

January 14, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Carole Neelands of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the age of 73 years.

Carole was born in Hamilton, ON, on December 31, 1949. In 1970, she married Chuck Robinson, with whom she has two children. Lana Fae Robinson-Campbell and Michael Wade Robinson. In 1980 Carole and Chuck relocated their family to Calgary, AB.

Carole enjoyed spending time with her friends but most of all she loved her family. She lived her entire life with her children and grandchildren in mind. Her family was her biggest accomplishment.

Carole had the gift of gab and could always make people feel at ease in her presence. She loved dancing especially to 60's music. She enjoyed playing games and cards like euchre, crib. Carole was always the life of the party. Carole’s favourite saying, "Life is not a dress rehearsal, you only get one shot" "We are here for a good time not a long time" She will be most remembered for her fighting spirit and never give up attitude. She will always be remembered for her love. Everyone who met Carole fell in love with her. She had an amazing sense of humour. She loved to tell jokes, most of them ended up being dirty, that was Carole. She was never afraid to be 100% authentic. She spoke to everyone straight from the hip never sugar coating anything.

She touched so many people in so many ways. Most people upon meeting her would feel close enough to call her “Mom”. That's what she did best being a mom, not just to Mike and Lana but to many of their friends as well. She loved her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren called her "Nanny". She loved them with all her heart.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Lana Fae Campbell-Robinson 47; son, Michael Wade Robinson 53; her grandchildren, Tyler Robinson 25 along by his side his new wife Megean Robinson, Macewan Campbell, 20; and last but not least her only granddaughter the beautiful, Cloe Fae Campbell 13, all of Calgary. Carole is also survived by her younger brother Doug Fenske, sister-in-law Cindy Fenske, nephew Kyle Fenske and daughter Hayleigh all of Hamilton, ON.

Carole's Father Claire Vernon Fenske, sadly passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, just days after her passing. He is in our hearts and will be missed. It gives us some comfort knowing that she is now with her father and mother Joan Fenske who passed away years earlier. She was predeceased by her grandson Ryan Charles Robinson who sadly passed away July 1, 1999.

Carole will be missed by her friends. Some she had just met recently and some she's had for a lifetime. Above all she had lots of love and laughter to give to everyone she knew. She was very hard working and was extremely generous. Carole loved her family above anything else. She left her mark on all who had the privilege of getting to know her. She will be greatly missed!

"LOVE" ANOTHER WORD FOR "MOTHER"

The love and support that you always gave us Mom will always be appreciated. You always had our backs! You always gave us your strength and guidance. You were our ROCK! Learning to live without you Mom will take a lifetime. We miss you more than you will ever know. We are heartbroken.

We love you, Mom. ALWAYS and FOREVER… Mike & Lana xoxo
