Condolences
Sherri was a memorable colleague at BLG who made me smile and laugh at her quick humour and delightful wit. I enjoyed sharing our mutual love of the African continent and will think of Sherri when I return and lift a toast in her honour.
Bonnie, we were saddened to hear of Sherri’s passing. Thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family. We have wonderful memories of being on the Africa trip with you and Sherri. Rest in peace dear Sherri.
I really got to know Sherri in the last year. We spent many hours together watching golf, tennis, The Property Brothers. Trips to Safeway, SouthCentre shopping for jeans. But she couldn’t find a new pair of Levi’s like her old pair which she loved because she didn’t have to wear a belt. We spent hours doing jigsaw puzzles…she loved doing houses. At meal time, I was the cook and Sherri was the “bottle washer”. She hated using the dishwasher for just a few dishes so we did them together by hand. We had lots of laughs and serious discussions about our lives. She met my daughter Jody and enjoyed her visits.
Alzheimer’s disease is a terrible ugly disease that robs one of their soul and leaves them empty. It was awful to watch the decline but a blessing it didn’t drag on. Now she’s at peace and I am so very grateful and happy for her. I will miss the good times we had.
