Condolences
We have so many pleasant memories of Lloyd. One is when he played at our wedding, another when he acted Santa Claus at Christmas in Hucksjöåsen.
Lloyd and Sigrun opened their home for our two sons Erik and Petter and took them for unforgettable trips and even fishing in the Pacific!
We will always remember you Lloyd. It is an honor to get to know such a warm and wise person.
Our thoughts goes to family and most of all to Robin and Britta.

I was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of my dear friend and fellow fiddler Lloyd Eriksson. I first met him when he finished his presidency of the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers and the friendship continued over the years. His love and promotion of Swedish folk music got me interested in playing the music so when he invited me to play I never refused. There were many concerts at the Scan Centre, accompanying the Senior Choir at Christmas and Spring, lots of good times playing for Midsommar at the Ersson Ranch in June, playing for the Ikea crayfish dinners and many years as his stand partner in the SW Seniors' dance ensemble. During these times I developed great admiration and respect for Lloyd and will cherish his memory. Margaret and I send our deepest condolences to his family.

My heartfelt condolences to Lloyd’s family members, those near and those far far away, on his loss. It is so hard to say a final farewell to someone like Lloyd who was such a positive influence on so many lives. In reflection, I realize that so many of the treasured memories I have held throughout these past 60+ years somehow always seem connected to Lloyd, Virginia, Robin, Britta, and Sigrun. Weddings, babies, Midsommars complete with gathering wild flowers from the fields to decorate the Midsommar pole, fiddle and guitar music and lots of singing around a campfire, lutefisk dinners at the Scan centre, Lloyd’s special homemade lox accompanied by Aquivit toasts (many!), and the many special evenings at the Eriksson home throughout the years, family and friends sharing precious time together with much laughter, joy, incredible food and refreshments, and music - always the music.

Dear Robin, Britta and Sigrun and also Bill and David
We were so sorry to hear that Lloyd had passed away.
There are many memories of all his visits to Sweden when he always took time to get in touch with his cousin Ingrid and my family. We also remember the hospitality when visiting Calgary and a special occation was when a group of musicians came to Canada to play swedish folk music. It was my father Ragnar and uncle Kalle on violin, cousins Karl-Olov on accordion and Gunvor on guitar and singing.
My grandchildren also enjoyed Lloyds playing the violin at Hucksjöåsen and at our house.
You all have our deep sympathies and love.

Dear family,
Please accept our condolences and our deepest felt respect for you all.
The first time we met Lloyd was when he, his wife and father came to Sweden in 1972. He was interested in meeting
as many of his Swedish relatives as possible. He was a very sociable person.
In 1976 Lloyd returned with his family. Lloyds interest in folkmusic gave him many musicalfriends among the Swedes he met.
He also became the one who actively ensured that the amont of letters, phonecalls and the visits by Swedes and Canadians across the Atlantic were many and highly appreciated. So it was thanks to Lloyd that the Swedish/Canadian connection grew stronger and stronger over the coming years.
We ourselves have on many occations had them staying with us in Stockholm and we have also been visiting our Canadian friends i Calgary a number of times. The memories of these trips are unforgettable. We were always treated with warmth and genorisity for which we are eternally grateful.
Thank you for allowing us to be your friends over all these years.
You will always be in our hearts.
May you rest in peace.

Dear Family,
I express my deepest sympathy and sorrow.
Towards you and the rest of the family.
From the first moment we met - in July 2000, here in the Lofoten, Norway we immediately understood each other.
As we shared not only musical taste, genre, but also life values quickly became apparent.
Lloyd had a brilliant intellect.
At several occasions and events later on, we enjoyed musical moments together. Both in Canada and Sweden.
One of our favorites was the Swedish Bridal march from Hucksjöåsen and Rönnquist wedding march from Sweden, Lloyd played it with such passion. Hucksjöåsen was his Swedish roots.
I loved Lloyds humor, and will always remember him for his positive, optimistic mood, his fine understatements and laugh.
Lloyd was a real gentleman. Faithful to his values and principles. He was endlessly proud of his Swedish roots and heritage.
I will the rest of my life remember our friendship. So many golden moments!
Today my warmest thoughts goes Lloyds family.
In respect and gratitude: To shine Peace and blessing upon his cherished memory.
Robert Solberg, Lofoten, Norway
Lloyd & I were born in the same hospital in Sherridon. We attended the same school in Lynn Lake. Then we grew up & went our separate ways until we connected again in Calgary. And what a gift that reconnection was! Our friendship flourished & my husband found a new golf partner & Sigrun & I exchanged recipes. We enjoyed many memorable times & we will miss him immensely. Our condolences & prayers are with all the family.

What began as a client relationship, blossomed into a personal friendship that endured through the years. Lloyd was always someone you could rely on for anything. Never shy to give advice on any matter, he was generous to a fault, of his knowledge and time. Lloyd shared with me his two passions in life, cross country skiing and music. My only regret was that we never got to travel together, which would have been a grand experience. He will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace, my friend.

It was a pleasure and an honor knowing and working with Lloyd for many years. From the humble origins of our Truss Division through his design, the construction operation and managing of the business Lloyd was largely responsible for our success. I owe a debt of gratitude and extend condolences to his family and friends.
We are so saddened by Lloyds sudden passing. He was treasured and loved and he leaves behind many wonderful memories of shared experiences and adventures from travelling to New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. Our yearly wine touring and many visits in the Okanagan stocking up on fine wines was always a highlight.
Our sympathies are with his wife Sigrun and his families who he loved and was so proud of.

This news is a "shocker". Lloyd was a great XC ski buddy and he'll be missed!
Our condolences.

Norseman Ski Club
Lloyd was a wonderful, caring, fun member of the Norseman Ski Club, of which he was a past president. He and Sigrun were always up front when it came to running parties, card games, music sessions, fun times together. The trip he arranged to ski Yellowstone with the club was one of the most memorable in our history. In times of need, Lloyd was always there as a friend. We are sorry those times are all behind us now. But Lloyd will never be forgotten, he stands out as one of life’s treasured friends. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family he was so proud of and loved so much, and to his dear wife Sigrun. Sheila and Ted Foster
Thank you, Lloyd, for bringing so much music to the Scandinavian Centre. Over the years you introduced Scandinavian tunes and performed them with fellow musicians at many spring and Christmas concerts, to the enjoyment of all.

Lloyd was my "brother" for 60 years. We adopted each other when he married my best friend Virginia Cates. Lloyd was a caring, beautiful person. Sometimes we let some time pass between our calls, but it was like no time at all had passed as we resumed our conversations where we left off. We always shared updates on our families and stayed very close. We had a wonderful friendship. Lloyd you will always be in my heart and I will miss you. Patti
