Obituary of Lawrence Richard Bomersback

June 10, 1943 - Biggar, Saskatchewan

March 24, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Lawrence “Larry” Bomersback beloved husband of Linda Bomersback (nee McKnight) of Calgary, AB, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday March 24, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

Larry was born in Biggar, SK, and grew up in Kindersley, SK.  He married his high school sweetheart Linda in 1965, and shortly thereafter moved to Calgary, AB, where he remained.

Larry went to trade school and completed his Sheet Metal Ticket in Saskatoon, SK. A short time later he moved to Calgary, AB, and worked in both residential, and commercial positions installing furnaces. In 1980, he moved to the City of Calgary, AB, and worked as an HVAC Heating Inspector, retiring in 2004.

Larry had a love of the outdoors, camping, and spending precious time with family. He enjoyed fishing, boating, water sports, and singing around the campfire sharing songs with the kids. Larry had a passion for music and was known for his singing voice, and his ever-present whistle. Larry loved sports as a youngster and continued enjoying leisure activities such as softball, curling, badminton, and billiards. He spent a considerable amount of time in the garage on wood working projects which he often gifted to others. He delighted in passing these skills along to his family.

One of Larry’s greatest attributes was his ability to connect with people. His positive attitude, charismatic personality, and quick wit were magnetic qualities that attracted others to him. His close-knit family, and life long personal friends will miss him deeply.

Besides his loving wife, Linda, he is survived by his daughter Pamela, his two sons and two daughters-in-law, Kirk (Liz), and Trevor (Taryn); eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Dylon), Alicia (Sam), Connor, Alexander, Jaeda, Jace, Grayden, and Emery; one great-grandchild, Amelia.

Larry is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Barb Bomersback of Kindersley, SK; his sister Fay Bomersback of Calgary, AB, sister-in-law Sandy (Tom) Ackerman of Kindersley, SK. He also leaves behind eight beloved nieces, one nephew, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jake and Merna Bomersback of Kindersley, SK.
