Obituary of Lawrence Gordon Puttock

Lawrence (Larry) Puttock of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the age of 72 years.

 

Larry was born in Toronto, ON on March 29, 1947. He was the oldest of five children and moved to Ottawa with his family in the 1950s where he attended elementary and high school.

 

Larry attended Ottawa Tech (Ottawa Technical High School) where he began his apprenticeship to become a journeyman electrician and subsequently became a master electrician. Larry moved to Calgary in 1979 and worked for thirty-five years with the Calgary Herald.

 

Larry had a passion for skiing well into his middle years and could be found every weekend in the winter at Lake Louise Ski Hill.  It was not until his diagnosis of diabetes that he had to give up skiing. He loved old fast cars and motorcycles. The louder and faster the better.

 

Larry is survived by his loving mother, Beryl Morwenna Puttock of Toronto, ON; his much loved daughter Tiffany; his sister Joyce (David) of Toronto; brother Ken (Margaret) of Toronto; sister Linda (Howerd) of Vulcan; sister Shirley of Calgary. Larry is also survived by his grandchildren, Jesse, Pyper and Rhorie; and his nephews and nieces, Christopher, Jeffrey, Rachel, Bobby, Ashley and Abigail. Larry also leaves behind the little ones, the great-nieces and great-nephews who had a very special place in his heart, Caeden, Chloe and Miles of Calgary, Hudson and Jack of Hamilton, and Olivia and Oliver of Calgary.
