Obituary of Madeleine Melanie PAUL

October 13, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Long time resident of Peace River, Alberta, Madeleine Melanie Paul, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the age of 95 years. 

Madeleine was the youngest child born January 28, 1924 to Swiss immigrants Francoise and Leopold Genoud on a homestead in Charron Lake, Alberta. She settled in the Peace Country as a new bride to Barry Paul in 1956 where they raised their four children.
 
Madeleine was a dedicated mother and wife who was known for her hospitality, culinary talents, and seamstress skills. She was an active member of the CWL in Peace River, and gave many years of service to Catholic Education as a member of the Peace River Catholic School Board, Alberta Education Council, and the National Board of Education.
 
Madeleine was predeceased by her loving husband Barry in 2013, sister Christine Bossel, and brothers Victor and John Genoud. She will be greatly missed by her four children, John (Harriet), Carol (James), Michelle, and Donna (Randy); along with her fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (10405 99 St, Peace River, AB), on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
