Obituary of Tineke (Tina) DOOGE

Tineke (Tina) Dooge passed away suddenly, to be with the Lord, on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Calgary, AB.

Tina was born in Leeuwarderadeel, Friesland, The Netherlands. Tina was a published author of several children’s books which are still widely read in Holland. During her time in Edmonton she taught for the Christian School Board. Tina accompanied Jasper in the early oil exploration of New Mexico and Western Canada and on many trips for business and pleasure. Their interests were cross-country skiing, hiking and camping. Tina served on the Board of Managers and the Women’s Fellowship of Grace Presbyterian Church for many decades, offering gracious hospitality and enjoying long-term committed friendships. She was also a long-time volunteer for the Inn From the Cold program. Tina is survived by two sisters, a brother, and numerous relatives in Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia. She was predeceased last year by Jasper Dooge, her loving husband of over 60 years.

A Memorial Service of Praise and Worship will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 – 15th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB) Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Nicholas Athanasiadis officiating. Reception to follow at the church. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
