Obituary of Nel Christoffersen

Petronella ‘Nel’ Christoffersen, beloved wife of Peter Christoffersen, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

Nel was born in Delft, Netherlands on August 12, 1938, and she moved to Calgary in 1961. She and Peter met in English class and were married in December 1963. They had two children, Carroll and Ken.

Nel was primarily a homemaker but worked for many years for the Calgary Board of Education at King Edward School. Nel enjoyed sewing, other handwork, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

She took several trips back to the Netherlands, which she very much enjoyed. She was always happy to reconnect with family and had many fond memories of her trips and holidays spent with her sisters.

She will be most remembered for her lively nature, warmth, love of friends and family, and her kindness.

Besides her loving husband, Nel is survived by her son and daughter, two grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
