Obituary of Uta Ruth Anna Luck

December 28, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Uta Luck (nee Etzold) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

 

Uta was born on August 15, 1943, in Dresden, Germany. She completed her primary education and began an apprenticeship in Iserlohn, Germany, in 1958. By 1961, she had graduated with highest marks as a Master Tailor.

 

In 1965, Uta married John Wayne Jacobson, a Canadian serviceman. The following year, the couple moved to Canada with their son Wayne, and welcomed their daughter, Samantha. Uta proudly became a Canadian citizen in 1970.

 

Throughout her life, Uta pursued various vocational training opportunities. She excelled in her Canadian high school equivalency exams and completed the Mount Royal University Police Training Program. In 1972, she earned her private investigator license. Despite her diverse skills, Uta’s exceptional talent as a seamstress always drew her back to her original profession. In 1978, Uta married Frank Luck.

 

Uta had a profound love for animals, especially her cats, who brought her much joy over the years.

 

She was predeceased by her mother Ruth Sinclair; her father and stepfather; her husband Frank Luck; and her son Wayne Luck.

 

Uta will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Samantha Radowits, and son-in-law Richard, her grandson Austen and his wife Tegan Radowits, her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ella Radowits; her grandson Royden Radowits and his fiancée Gabriella, her stepdaughter Leila and her husband Dwight, and Viesia and family.
