Obituary of Harry Shierman

Harry Shierman passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the age of 105 years. He was raised on a farm in the Kathyrn area. He married Tirza in 1952 and they were married for over 60 years until she passed away in 2014.
Harry played hockey, baseball, and curling and coached hockey and baseball throughout his life. He graduated from Tech (SAIT) and went on to farm. When his sons became adults, he brought them into the farming operation.
Harry is survived by his four sons, Bill (Annette), Gary, Ken (Lori), and Doug (Shelly); ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary Shierman; and his four older sisters, Mary, Marie, Pat, and Emma.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery (3219-4th Street NW, Calgary, AB).
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Shierman’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
