Obituary of Robert David Mundy

December 22, 1955 – Scarborough, Ontario

January 2, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Mundy, beloved husband of Shelley Mundy, of Calgary, AB, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the age of 69 years. Bob fought a courageous battle with IPF.

Bob was born in Toronto, ON, and grew up in Scarborough, ON. With an adventurous spirit, Bob moved to Calgary as a young man, where he met his wife, Shelley. They married in 1980.

Bob was a hardworking man who worked in the construction industry. Bob’s lifetime of work in this industry left an indelible mark on the landscape of Alberta and on all the many people with whom he worked.

Bob brought fun and a sense of humour to the workplace, to all his family, and to his dear friends. He loved to play the guitar, tend his garden, and faithfully kept in close touch with his lifelong friends and family. He will be greatly missed.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife and sons, Bryan (Jen) and Sheldon; his sister Sandra (Andy); his sister Laura and her boys, Cameron and Alex; his brother David (Brenda), Stephen, and Emma and her boys. Bob is also survived by his extended family, numerous lifelong friends, and his cat Patches.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date.
