Obituary of Caroline Aiko HORI
1916 – 2014
Caroline Aiko Hori (Kobayashi) passed away peacefully on March 16th. at Southwood Hospice in Calgary, Alberta.
She was 97 years of age and will be sadly missed by her husband, Peter, daughter ,Rose, son-in-law, Doug and many family members in Calgary and across Canada.
She was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia along with six siblings, 3 who have predeceased her; brothers; Tony, Hiroshi and sister, Yosh. Surviving siblings include sisters Sachiyo and Susan as well as brother, Osam.
No matter what she did she worked hard whether it be picking fruit in her parent’s orchard, running a small grocery store or working as a seamstress. She excelled in whatever she did be it cooking, gardening or golfing. She is the only one in the family who ever got a hole-in-one. She was a member of the Calgary Japanese Kotoboki Club and enjoyed the meetings and activities and getting together with her family members and friends. As per her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. No koden. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
