Obituary of Robert Sidney SMITH

January 2, 1930 – Tandragee, Northern Ireland December 27, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Robert Sidney Smith entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour December 27, 2013 in the early hours of the morning. Robert was born in Tandragee, Northern Ireland to parents Robert James Smith and Anabella Smith (nee Woolsey), the eldest son of six children. Robert married the love of his life Mary Adelaide Walsh on April 26, 1956 and immigrated to Canada to raise their family. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Mary Adelaide and his one son Andrew and daughters: Roberta (David) and their children Ruth (Rick) great-grandson Elijah, Clara (Mark) great-granddaughter Ella, great-grandson Jonah, Kerry (Michael) great-grandson Micah and great-granddaughters Lucia and Bella: Vera (Karl) granddaughters Emma, Sara and Cheryl: Suzanne (Mitchell) and her son Daniel, his only grandson. Robert is also survived by his brother Woolsey and sisters Jane, Ada, Eileen and Vera and other family in Canada and Ireland. There will be a private graveside service on Friday, January 3, 2014. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at West Hillhurst Gospel Hall (2326 – 7 Avenue N.W.) on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all their dearest friends and loved ones for their support at this time and to express their sincerest thanks to the staff at Brentwood Nursing Care Centre for their kindness and care and attention.
