Obituary of Iris Daisy OTTER

DEER WOMAN – Guuyani TsiKa It is with great sadness that Creator called home Guuyani TsiKa on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the age of 49. She was born at Holy Cross Hospital on March 28, 1963. Iris received her education at St. Benedict, St. Stephens and Bishop Grandin. She furthered her education at AVC where she received her diploma in Computer Programs, three Secretary Programs, Treaty 7 Community Future Program, Child & Family Programs and Business Management Program. Iris worked for Economic Development Executive Assistant, Care Giver for Tsuu T’ina Child and Family Department and Tsuu T’ina Gunaha Institute. Iris also had over twenty years’ experience as a Senior Executive Assistant with continuing education in Project Management and Business Management. Iris had strong intelligence and proficiency in which she was ongoing and continued training which prepared her with the ability and integrity to assist Tsuu T’ina Nation, Provincial and Federal Governments. Iris was actively involved with the Piercing Sun Dance in Piikani Nation where her involvement and support with great respect of her Spiritual values. Iris is survived by her cherished grandchildren Corbin, Shari Ann and Eileen (Baby Kay) Otter. Her parents Barbara Otter and Roy Otter and sisters Sophie Otter, Sharon (Ronald) Deschamps, Cindy (Clint) Hunter, Vanessa (Rick) Otter and Brother in Law Wayne Deschamps, her uncles Clifford (Vanora) Big Plume, Carl Big Plume. Her Auntie’s Marie (Winston Sr.) Wadsworth, Victoria Jacobs, Theresa Big Plume, Margaret Big Plume, Violet Crowchild, Agnes Thomas, special auntie Carol Gottfriedson and numerous nieces, nephews and adopted mother Audrey Pipestem, adopted sons Eugene Memnook, Ryan Big Plume, Langdon Crowchild, Darcy Dodginghorse, Dennis Bish, Vincent Jr. Crowchild, Cayley Big Plume and Leon Crane. Her adopted sisters Vera Starlight, Jeanette Starlight and Valerie Dodginghorse and special people Jim & Alberta Miller and family, whom are too many to mention. Her loving character brought her many adopted brothers and sisters. Iris had many relatives from throughout Treaty 7, Hobbema, Rocky Boy, Browning and Crow Agency Montana. She was predeceased by her loving children Gloria Ann, Kaylen and Barry Otter, her maternal grandparents Stanley and Louise Big Plume and paternal grandparents Daisy and Oscar Otter. Wake Services were held at the residence of Iris Otter, Tsuu T’ina Nation on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Sarcee Seven Chiefs Sportsplex (3700 Anderson Rd.
