Obituary of Margaret Mary Gudmundson

May 27, 1943 – Winnipeg, Manitoba

April 26, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Margaret Gudmundson, beloved wife of the late Jim Gudmundson, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

 

Margaret was born in Winnipeg, MB, on May 27, 1943, and moved to Calgary, AB, in 1982. She went on to graduate from St. Bernadine High School in California and later married Jim Gudmundson in 1975.

 

She accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of the birth of her son Alan. Margaret had a passion for travel, with one of her fondest memories being on a cruise through the Panama Canal with her husband, son, and daughter-in-law.

 

She will forever be remembered for her fun-loving personality. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff at Bow View Manor for their unwavering care and support.

 

Margaret is survived by her son Alan (Jody) Gudmundson, of Cochrane, AB, and her sister Mary Ellen (Cliff) Schultz of Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jim and her sister Ruthie Davis Saour.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Pl NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 4 St NW, Calgary, AB).
