Lawrence “Larry” Novlesky of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the age of 94 years.

 

Larry was born in Sexsmith, AB on December 29, 1929, and he was an accomplished individual, working as a Superintendent of operations in the oil and gas industry for Loffland Brothers for over 25 years.


In his free time, Larry enjoyed indulging in his passions for woodworking, golf, skiing, fishing, gardening, bird watching, and squirrel hunting. He loved spending time in AB and BC and built his family cabin in Columere Park on Columbia Lake in BC. Larry also had a love for travelling and had many memorable trips to Asia, Europe, Nashville, Alaska, Arizona, and even spent time working in Ireland.

Larry is survived by his two sons, Gerald (Sandi) Novlesky and Lorne (Diane) Novlesky of Calgary; his daughter Terry (Alan) Stuckert of Airdrie, six grandchildren, Christa Bachmeier, Alicia (Andre) McCormack, Jeff Novlesky, Nicole Stuckert, Jamie (Mark) Pacumio, and Alex (Peter) Novlesky; three great-grandchildren, Easton Bachmeier, Ashtyn Bachmeier, and Marcus Pacumio. Larry was greatly saddened by the loss of his wife Theresa “Irene” Novlesky after 60-plus years of marriage. His five Alberta-born and raised brothers also predeceased him: Charlie Benny, Ivan, George and Willie.
 

Larry will be most remembered for his love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his unwavering passion for life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway (Fish Creek Hospitality Centre, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.


If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
