Obituary of Christopher David DEFOORT
September 21, 1972 – Wetaskiwin, Alberta
May 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Defoort on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 47 years, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.
Chris took part in several charity events including donating turkeys to the Calgary Food Bank at Christmas, filling a hamper for a family for Christmas, the Kidney Foundation Bike Ride, and the Calgary Tower Stair Climb. He was an avid gamer, enjoyed reading, and spending time with family. He loved family reunions and driving to the mountains. Chris will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered as our kind, thoughtful, fun-loving and funny gentle giant.
Those we love
Don’t go away
They walk beside us everyday
Unseen, unheard but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Chris is survived by his mother Sharon (Dave) Bourassa, father Grant (Linda) Defoort, sister Suzanne Defoort, foster sister Jo-Anne Dicken (Wade and Elliott Bell), Aunt Edna, Aunt Dea, best friend and cousin Janet, as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Chris’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at both the Rocky View Hospital and the Foothills Hospital/ICU.
