Timothy (Tim) MOORE

Obituary of Timothy (Tim) Douglas MOORE

September 3, 1960 – Edmonton, Alberta
September 14, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Following a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer, Timothy Moore passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, September 14 in Calgary, AB.

Tim was born in Edmonton, AB. At the age of six his family moved to Peace River where he made some very special life long friends. Here he developed his passion for golf in the summer and hockey in the winter. Tim was always grateful to his mother for all the cold winter nights she drove him and his friends to play hockey in other towns and cities. Through both sports, Tim met and developed close relationships with many people who stayed in touch with him throughout his illness.

Following high school graduation, Tim moved to Edmonton to pursue higher education. After graduating, he began his career with Garrod Food Brokers in 1983. Starting as Edmonton Branch Manager/Key Account Manager, his dedication, strong work ethic and sharp mind took him to Calgary in 1994 where he developed the technology side of the business, was a Brand Manager for several clients and became a partner in the business. Tim became President of the Garrod Food Brokers/Concord National Prairie Division in 2000 and he continued to grow the business with his partners. He was well respected and very active in the food industry in Western Canada as well as nationally and internationally. Tim will be remembered for his professionalism, tenacity, kindness and friendship both professionally and personally.

He was an exceptionally loving, caring husband. He was a supportive son and brother and made his family very proud. He was a strong role model for his two sons and was always available to talk when they asked for his advice. To his granddaughters, Sloane and Maisie, Grandpa was very protective and attentive. He was always up for whatever they wanted to do and he melted when they took his hand.

Tim is survived by and greatly missed by his wife Sandy, sons, Cary (Jeannie) and Tyler (Katherine and granddaughters, Sloane and Maisie); mother Marg Veillet, brother Jeff (Cathy),  sisters, Sharon (Denis) and Colleen (Don); and nephews, Joel (Jamie, children Willa and Jude) and Kelly (Laura, children Rudy and Ada). He was predeceased by his father Bervyl Moore, his second father John Veillet, sister Joanne McVee (Rick) and sister-in-law Linda Moore (Jeff).

A Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Tim’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
