Obituary of Teresa Talerico
February 21, 1932 – Fantino, Italy
May 26, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with sadness that we mourn the peaceful passing of our mother, Teresa Talerico (nee Loria), of Calgary, AB, on May 26, 2022, at the age of 90 years.
Mom was born in the tiny village of Fantino, a community near San Giovanni in Fiore, Cosenza, Italy. She immigrated to Canada, settling in Calgary in 1958 with her husband Saverio and daughter Saletta. Working tirelessly to raise her family during very difficult times, she always made sure family came first. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, who had the great fortune of being raised by "Nonna".
Mom is survived by her three children, Saletta Petrollini, Katerina Marasco (Giovanni), and John Talerico (Joanne); six grandchildren, Roberto Petrollini (Robin), Marco Petrollini (Anita), Rosa Cameron (Dmitri), Antonio Marasco, Matthew Talerico, and Laura Dube (Jared); and her precious great grandchildren, Xavier, Greta, Sophie, Nina, Henri, and Amelia. Teresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Saverio, her infant son Giovanni, her son-in-law Donato Petrollini, and other family members whom she now joins as she ascends in grace.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Agecare Skyview. They took exceptional care of mom for which we are eternally grateful.

Funeral Mass will be held at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church (1714 14 Avenue Northeast, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. Reception to follow the graveside in the Hospitality Centre at the Church. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
