Andre Lepine

Obituary of Andre Louis Joseph Lepine

September 27, 1954 – Ste. Rose Du Lac, Manitoba

September 13, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

André Lepine, of Calgary, AB, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from COVID-19 and a compromised immune system from COPD on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the age of 69 years.

In the past year, André faced numerous health challenges, including recovering from severe burns sustained in a fire, which led to the partial amputation of his foot. Despite these hardships, he displayed immense courage and determination to regain his mobility and independence. With grace and resilience, André transitioned into a new chapter of life at a seniors' care home, where he quickly earned the respect, admiration, and friendship of caregivers and fellow residents. He passed just fourteen days before his 70th birthday.

Born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB, André’s early life took him to many parts of Saskatchewan due to his father’s work, including a memorable time in Wauchope. His family later returned to Ste. Rose, where André spent his teenage years. He will be deeply missed by his children, Amber and Daniel; the mother of his children Darlene Lepine, his sister Yvette (Don) Lennon, his brother Daniel Lepine (Connie Johnson), and his sisters-in-law, Iris Lepine and Madeleine Michaud. André’s aunt Therese Fouillen, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn his loss. He was predeceased by his parents, Amelie and Wilfrid Lepine; as well as his brothers, Denis and Gerald Lepine.

André will be remembered for his successful career in sales at Lepine Audio, The Brick Warehouse, Lazyboy Furniture, and later in real estate, where he earned the respect and admiration of many.

A Celebration of André’s Life will be held on what would have been his 70th birthday, Friday, September 27, 2024. His children had originally planned a birthday celebration for him at his favorite karaoke bar, the Stonegate Pub on Fairmount Drive in Calgary (7640 Fairmount Dr SE, Calgary, AB). The pub has graciously set aside tables for friends and family to gather between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to pay their respects. Later in the evening, there will be karaoke, something André loved to do on Friday nights, allowing loved ones to sing in his memory and celebrate his life as he would have wanted.

André’s love for music and singing will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and we take comfort in knowing that the many lives he touched and the countless friendships he made will continue to be a source of warmth and fond memories for years to come
