Edwin “Ed” Arthur Rohl of Rocky View County, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the age of 77 years.
Born on January 2, 1947, Ed lived a life filled with curiosity, generosity, and ambition.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Robin (nee Butz); his son, Rick (Juli); his two grandchildren, Hannah and Cooper; his brother, Don (Sylvia); and his sister, Pat (late Robert). He was predeceased by his brother Jerry, and parents, George and Bertha.
Ed cherished his grandchildren, Hannah and Cooper, who brought endless joy to his life. He adored them deeply and treasured every shared adventure, from simple moments of laughter to grand adventures.
A self-taught businessman, Ed built a successful career in aviation, where his honesty and integrity earned the respect of all who worked with him. He was passionate about teaching and mentoring, always eager to share his knowledge and inspire others.
Ed was a kid at heart, with a love for toys of all kinds. His playful spirit was matched by his many hobbies, including model trains, rebuilding cars and motorbikes, watersports, and woodworking. His numerous medical challenges never slowed him down, and he always found new ways to entertain his grandkids.
The family acreage was a place of laughter and adventure, where generations of nieces, nephews, grandkids, and friends created lasting memories riding snowmobiles and dirt bikes, jumping on trampolines, and cooling off with homemade Slurpees.
Ed's generosity, honesty, and zest for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
