Obituary of Leonard LEYTEN

September 18, 1947 – January 2, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Len Leyten on Monday, January 2, 2012 following a brief illness at the age of 64 years. Len was born in Mannville, AB and moved to Calgary at a young age. He worked for the City of Calgary for 35 years prior to his retirement in 2002. He was an avid reader, loved travelling and enjoyed spending time with his family who were very important to him. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lena, his son Paul and daughter-in-law, Melissa, and his best buddy, his grandson, Shane, with whom he shared a special bond. He is also survived by two brothers, Dale and Wayne, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim and Karen Adams and his niece, Kelly Adams as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wish to thank the wonderful staff on both Unit 36 at the Foothills Hospital as well as the Sarcee Hospice for their dedicated and loving care during his stay with them.
