Obituary of Phyllis Marjorie CORNFIELD
May 4, 1940 – January 1, 2012
Phyllis Marjorie Cornfield beloved mother and sister passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the age of 71 years.
Phyllis was born May 4, 1940 in Birmingham, England, she immigrated to Canada in December 1967 with her two sons and first husband, Kenneth King. Living in various towns and cities in Manitoba, Alberta, and Ontario, Phyllis eventually settled in the town of Terrace, British Columbia for more than twenty-three years. Moving to Calgary in the final months of her life, she was closer to the loving attention of her two sons. Working part of her life as a nurse’s aide and a lifelong Elvis Presley fan, she was a kind and polite soul to all she met, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Dean King and Martin King, brother Alan Gilbert and sister Evelyn Matchett. She was predeceased by her mother Marjorie Gilbert (nee White), father Philip Gilbert and sister Margaret Thomas.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
