Obituary of Maria PRINCIPALLI

January 3, 1933 – December 27, 2011 Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother Maria Principalli of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 78 years. Maria was born in Rende, Cosenza, Italy and immigrated to Calgary, with her husband and children in 1967, where they raised their family of five children. She will be remembered for her love of family, her sense of humour, her generosity, her cooking and her desire for life and the well being of others. Maria is survived by her five children and their spouses, Giancarlo and Christine Principalli, Anna Principalli and Giovanni Ratic, Roberto and Lorelee Principalli, Anna Marie and John Jans and Gianfranco and Angela Principalli; twelve grandchildren, Peter (Vanessa) Principalli, Daniel Principalli (Danielle), Johnny Principalli, Ryan Brown (Mandy), Michael Principalli, Jonathan Brown (Allie), Alisa Brown, Jordan Principalli (Vanessa), Dominic Principalli, Nicholas Principalli, Adamo Ratic and Stephanie Ratic (Tony); three great-grandchildren, Oaklynn Brown, Jaxin Brown and Christopher Principalli. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Guido Barone; her sister Rita Esposito; her brother and sister-in-law Franco and Filomena Esposito; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Giovanni and Assunta Principalli; sisters-in-law, Rita Esposito and Rosetta Principalli and all of their families. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Giacomo Principalli in 1991; her parents, Pietro Esposito and Giustina Gelsomino; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cosimo and Maria Principalli; two brothers, Guerino Esposito and Carmine Esposito; her brothers-in-law, Santo Filippelli and Nicola Principalli and sister-in-law Maria Principalli. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow in St. Joseph’s Section at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
