Obituary of Marie Elizabeth MARTIN
October 24, 1936 – December 22, 2011
Born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, October 24, 1936, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the age of 75 years.
After St. Mary’s Girls High School and Henderson’s Business College, Marie entered the business world and was a dedicated employee of various companies for thirty-six years. They included: The Calgary Herald, CP Telegraphs, Emco, The Albertan, Midland Osler Securities, Gulf Canada Limited and Shell Canada Limited. Marie has been a resident of Westgate community and a member of St. Michael’s Parish for over forty years.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1993, her parents, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Jim Howie, Joan and Carl Metz, Kathleen and Karl Spielman and her brother and sister-in-law Pat and Lucy Mulgrew. Marie’s has three daughters, Anna Marie Martin, Kathy Lynn Martin, Rosemary and husband Keith Hawkins and one son James Armand Martin Jr. and wife Teresina Bontorin. Granny cherished her four granddaughters, Nicole, Natalie, Megan, Rachel, her one grandson Matthew James and one great-granddaughter Kynlee.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. Tthe time of prayers has changed from 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Community Church (800 – 85 Street S.W.) on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at “Holy Family Cemetery” at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to St. Michael’s, St. Vincent de Paul Society, 800 – 85 Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
