Obituary of Juanita Mary BRODERICK

February 2, 1940 – December 22, 2011 Juanita Mary Broderick of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the age of 71 years. Juanita was born in Gambo, Newfoundland and resided and taught school throughout Newfoundland, prior to moving to Calgary in 1983. Juanita earned her Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Masters Degree in Religious Education. Juanita loved her chosen career and believed teaching was a ministry and that belief guided her in daily encounters with young minds. Quoting Juanita, “I pray that I touched their lives as they did mine”. Juanita is survived by her sisters, Doretha Slaney, Helen Parrott, Geraldine MacIntyre and Mary Penney; her brothers William Broderick (Trudy), Harry Broderick and Patrick (Gaye) Broderick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James and Bridget Broderick; a sister Kathleen Broderick; and brothers, Tommy, Junior, Dennis, Frank, Mike and Andy Broderick. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will also be celebrated in Gambo, Newfoundland, with burial to follow.
