Obituary of Russell John ZAHARKO

March 25, 1941 – December 17, 2011 Russ Zaharko, beloved husband of Vicki Zaharko (nee Aldridge) of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the age of 70 years. Russ was born in Edmonton and graduated as a Petroleum Engineer from the University of Alberta in 1963. He was an inspiration and mentor to many in the oil and gas industry. He held senior positions in numerous companies such as Chevron, Candel, Sulpetro, Imperial Oil, Canor Energy and lastly as C.O.O. of Navarone Energy. Besides his loving wife of twenty years, Russ will be remembered by two daughters, Karen (Brad) Beisel and Loni Zaharko (Richard Hawryluk); two grandchildren, Courtney and Zachery Beisel. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth (Keith) Cumming of Edmonton; Jeanette (Michael) Pick, Zorea (Bob) McDonald, Orest (Dorothy) Zaharko all of Calgary and Ken (Debbie) Zaharko of Vancouver and their families. Russ was predeceased by his parents Anne and John Zaharko of Calmar, AB.
