It was my privilege to meet Sister Ann at Red Crow Community College where she worked for several years as librarian. In face, as I remember, it was due to her influence that a magnificent library was developped there in what had been a chapel.
I’ll always remember Sister Ann’s positive attitude towards everything and every one. She was such a welcoming and friendly person, and my life has been enriched by haveing known her.
Please accept my sincere condolences for you loss of this wonderful person.
Yours truly,
Louise Woodrow
Our deepest sympathy to the Murtagh family. Our family has many fond memories of Anne as we had the pleasure and privilege of being students in Anne’s very first teaching assignment at Lake of the Plains country school near Govan. Anne boarded with us on the family farm. Our Mom (Kay Paul) has many great memories of sitting at the kitchen table sharing many hours of conversation and of course lots of laughs. Mom was so thrilled to have had the opportunity to renew acquaintances with Ann at the Govan Homecoming in 2005 and again a chance meeting at a Regina concert this summer where Anne & her sister happened to have seats right beside her. Many great memories of a wonderful jolly person. She will be sadly missed by all.

May God bless and keep her.

Dear Sisters of Charity of St. Louis,
It is with sadness that we received the news of the sudden death of Sister Anne Murtagh. Our Sisters who presently serve and have served in Lethbridge and Calgary knew her well and will miss her. We assure you of our prayerful support during this time of sorrow and separation. May the tree to be planted in Fish Creek Provincial Park help to keep her memory alive in the hearts of all who mourn her death. In its taking root and growing may it celebrate her entry into eternal life.
Our sincerest sympathy,

I worked with Sister Anne at the University of Lethbridge and want you to know how much I personally respected and valued her. She was an accomplished and committed scholar, teacher and faculty member and a most thoughtful and fun colleague. We had many challenging discussions and shared some wonderfully fun times together – most often at faculty retreats! I know she will be sorely missed by her family, friends and colleagues.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It was our pleasure to have worked with Sister Anne in connection with the Sisters of Charity. Our thoughts and prayers are with all her family and with the Sisters at this time.
Although it has been many years since I saw Sr Anne with these physical eyes, her spirit has remained fresh in view over the years. The most fun memories were of the joy of music with Sr Anne playing piano for our big choir practices in Medicine Hat and then for doing the L.P.–
Well, Sr. Anne, you are never far away when within one’s heart. Thinking of you, (and of all the rest of you Sisters), brings a smile, always.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with Anne’s Family and the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis family. It was a great shock to hear of Sisters death she was so looking forward to her new life in Regina. We valued our time with her as colleague, bridge partner, or hostess. She always had great stories and knew everyone.
Dear Sisters of Anne’s Community and Family
My sincere and heartfelt sympathy as you live through this very difficult moment of Anne’s sudden death.
Anne and I taught together at UPEI during the early 70’s and have remained in touch ever since. I experienced her as a dedicated religious woman, leader, committed teacher and friend to all in need.
Across the miles, I am united with all you as you keep vigil with her.

Anne was a very dear friend – her passing will leave a big void in many lives. She was much loved by colleagues, students, friends and relatives. My deepest condolences.
We were most saddened in Lethbridge to hear of the loss of our friend St. Anne. One does not know the time or the hour when our Master will come, but I would never have guessed that it would be this soon for Sr. Anne. I found her to be the picture of health and full of vitality, humor and welcome to all who crossed her path. This is a great shock for myself and the many friends she made in Lethbridge
Rest in peace Sr. Anne. The communications in Heaven will be state of the art, freeing you from any further dealings with troublesome computers.
We will keep you in our prayers
