Obituary of Elsa Margit HARTVIKSEN
October 24, 1923 – December 11, 2011
It is with great sadness the family of Elsa Hartviksen announces her passing. She emigrated from Sweden to Northern Ontario as a young child. She was an honour student and won the gold medal in nursing at Port Arthur General Hospital. In 1961, she moved with her husband and five children to Calgary where she continued nursing at the Alberta Children’s Hospital for twenty years.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Henry; as well as her children, Kathryn (Murray) Smith, Kristin (Tim) Keener, Ralph, Donald (Millie) and Carolyn (Don) McLellan; eight grandchildren, Sherri, Karin, Michelle, Kelsey, Mallory, Madeline, Murray, Erik and one great-grandson, Kainan.
