Obituary of Sebastian Nicholas Sid BITZ

February 5, 1923 – December 7, 2011 Sebastian (Sid) beloved husband of Florence (Nellie) of Calgary, was called to his Creator on December 7, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Born in Burstall, Saskatchewan, Sid and Nellie moved to Calgary in 1962. He became very active in St. Joseph’s parish and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. Dad was very active into his retirement years and may he now rest in peace. Besides his loving wife of sixty years, Sid is survived by his son, James (Bonnye), daughter Gail Diesveld (Frank) and son Michael (Helga); grandchildren Virgil (Ariel), Danielle, Kristopher (their mother Fritz), Lucas and Rachel as well as two great-grandchildren Taylor and Naomi. Also mourning is his extended family and many nieces and nephews. Sid was predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret Bitz, his sister Rose Gutfriend and brother Peter Bitz.
