Obituary of Carlos MADRIGAL

August 3, 1937 – December 1, 2011 Carlos Madrigal of Calgary passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the age of 74 years. Carlos was born and raised in Madrid, Spain and moved to Manchester, UK in 1956. It was here that he became the wonderful husband of Margaret and a loving and admiring father to Irene. At the age of 29, he moved his family to Calgary to work in the hospitality business. Carlos had a long and distinguished career as the Maitre D at the Highlander Hotel “Black Angus Dining Room” from 1966 until his retirement in 1998. His deepest interests revolved around hunting, soccer, and a passion for cooking. His legendary and talented displays of his culinary creations will be missed. Carlos is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Irene and Glen Phillips; grandsons, Derek and Kevin; sisters, Loli of Manchester, UK and Mayte of Madrid, Spain. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-five years, Margaret Madrigal on June 20, 2010. Our heartfelt thanks to Janet Bullard and Dr. Martin LeBrie for their support and guidance.
