Obituary of Petar MUSTAPIC

October 24, 1961 – November 30, 2011 The family announces with sorrow the passing of Petar Mustapic, beloved husband of Viktoria, on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the age of 50 years. His vibrant spirit and passion for life carried him throughout his twenty month battle with cancer which he faced heroically, and without complaint up until his final breath when he went home to be with his loving Saviour. Pero was born in Split, Croatia on October 24th, 1961. He grew up in Lovrec, Croatia as the oldest of five children, helping his parents raise his siblings. He loved working in the family vineyards, playing soccer and enjoying the Dalmatian coast. In August 1990, he originally came to Canada to visit his uncle Dinko, aunt Julka and cousins, Dennis and Joseph; however, he ended up meeting the love of his life and creating a new life and home in Calgary. What never changed for Pero, though, was his devotion to God, family, his native Croatia and his innate ability to bring people together with humour, laughter and love. Pero was married to his beloved wife, Viktoria, for twenty years. In addition to Viktoria he is survived by his son, Marin and his daughter, Ivana of Calgary. He is survived by his mother Marija, brothers Evelin (Marija), Predrag (Ankica), Ante (Marija), sister Andjelka and numerous nieces and nephews of Croatia. He is also survived by his in-laws, Viktor and Vesna Dermanovic, Ivan (Julia), Tina (Bud) and more nieces and nephews in Calgary. Pero was predeceased by his father Marijan. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Roman Catholic Church (14675 Deer Ridge Drive SE) on Saturday December 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
