Obituary of Stanley Edward ARNOLD

May 21, 1926 – November 25, 2011 Stanley Edward Arnold, dearly loved husband and father, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Born near Regina, Saskatchewan on May 21, 1926, Stan married Alberta Rose (Dolly) Landon on December 19, 1953. Together over the next fifty-eight years they built a wonderful family. Throughout his life, Stan was a hard worker, on behalf of his loved ones and others. He was very family oriented, and taught his children the value of hard work, setting the example as a provider. Anytime you crossed paths with Stan you were almost guaranteed an interesting conversation, because of his friendly nature and love for people. He would gladly share stories of working on the farm or his vast experience in construction, and enthusiastically shared with his neighbours his hope for a better future. He is survived by his loving wife, Alberta, and their four children, George (Marsha), Charlie (Chris), Wilf (Lois) and Melody (Daryl); seven grandchildren and their families; one great granddaughter; as well as his brother Ken (Dorothy). We look forward to that time that Stan himself eagerly anticipated, when he is restored to us as the loyal, industrious, God-fearing man we knew, as promised in John 5:28, 29. “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” Memorial Services will be held at Calgary Kingdom Hall Centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses (2900 -14th Avenue N.E.) on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to every doctor, nurse, and personal support worker, too numerous to mention, at CareWest Glenmore, Newport Harbour Care Center, the Emergency Room and Unit 51 of the Peter Lougheed Center for their generous and compassionate care. In living memory of Stanley Arnold, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
