Obituary of Franklin Delano WAGNER

May 13, 1933 – November 20, 2011 Frank passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the age of 78. He was born in Stettler, AB where he grew up on the family farm. He later left home to attend Tech (S.A.I.T) in the city of Calgary where he studied drafting which was the beginning of a long career in construction. His vast experience included everything from timber frame construction and bridges to massive municipal projects. Frank could build anything, from fine furniture to high rise towers. He ended his working career self-employed in project management, primarily in the oil and gas industry doing plant, pipeline, and facility construction. He worked into his seventies because he loved building things and he loved hard work. Frank loved the ocean and he spent many trips on his boat the “Norma Fay” salmon fishing. He loved camping and the RV lifestyle. He created great memories for his family on these trips. Frank was predeceased by his parents Bill and Mattie Wagner, brother Bill, and sister Margaret. He considered himself very fortunate to be married twice, both times to the same woman, Norma. He is survived by his wife Norma, and their two sons, Glenn (Susan) and Michael (Joanne), and four grandchildren, Randi, Kyle, April and Halla. Frank loved his family, and his family and friends loved him. He will be missed always and the love that he gave will be remembered forever. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
