Obituary of Ethel DEWAR

December 13, 1926 – November 18, 2011 Ethel Dewar (nee Tweten) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family last Friday. She was born in Penhold, AB and was one of ten children of Philip and Vera Tweten. She attended school in Penhold and Red Deer. She moved and worked in Calgary for a few years and enlisted in the RCAF (1951) and became a Fighter Control Operator (FCO). After a few postings to other units she went to the 42nd squadron, Cold Lake. Ethel met and married her husband Ted, who also worked at the 42nd squadron. She was granted her release in 1957 in order to start a family. Ethel is survived by Ted, her loving and devoted husband of fifty-four years; her sons, Edward (Angela), Darryl (Liana), and Ken; her daughter Sandra; and her grandchildren, Austin, Adriana, Sarah and Jacob. She is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis, Carol, and Marilyn. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Alto Rest Cemetery in Red Deer at a later date.
