Obituary of Helen KELLY

April 23, 1936 – November 13, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Helen Kelly, on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Helen was born in Lamont, Alberta on April 23, 1936 and moved to Edmonton at a young age where Helen spent her youth and met her lifelong friend Sheila Bettley. Helen moved to Calgary where she met Michael James Kelly. In 1962, Helen and Michaels’ forty-five year marriage began where they made their family home in Lakeview raising their four boys. Though a homemaker first, Helen was employed for many years at her husband’s law firm as the Office Manager. Helen and Michael loved to travel and took every opportunity to do so. They were fortunate to have travelled the world. She loved to curl and was a member of several different women’s leagues winning many trophies. Helen’s other passion was reading and her appetite for the written word was insatiable. Helen is survived by her four sons, Terry, Patrick (Sonia), Kevin (Tricia) and Chris (Vanessa). Three grandsons, Willam, Tiarnan and Diarmaid. She is also survived by a brother Willie Dubetz. Helen was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2007 and a brother Jimmy Dubetz. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway’s Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307-14th Street SW) on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (32 Ave. & 4th St. SW). Helen’s family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful staff at both the Foothills & Rockyview hospitals, for helping Helen through her final journey.
