Obituary of Mary Lenore ROBINSON

January 12, 1926 – November 3, 2011 With great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Lenore (Nonie) Robinson, wife of W.G. Hugh Robinson on Thursday, November 3, 2011, shortly after the celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary. Nonie was born in Calgary and attended Elbow Park Elementary School and Central High School. She also graduated from the University of Alberta as a Registered Nurse in 1948 and completed an additional year of post-graduate Obstetrics Nursing in New Jersey. Nonie was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to looking after her family, Nonie was an active member of St. Philip the Evangelist Anglican Church and in later years belonged to Christ Church Calgary. She enjoyed golfing at Earl Grey Golf Club, playing bridge with her friends and participating in many sports at The Glencoe Club. She also loved reading, travelling and gardening. Besides her loving husband Hugh, Nonie is survived by her four children (and their spouses): Sheila (Marty) Wares, Ian Robinson (Janice Stratton), Joni (Guy) Mallabone, and Gord Robinson (Kathy Stankievech); and her eight grandchildren: David, Peter, Brian, Diana, Kate, Heather, Kelly and Maggie. She was predeceased by her brother Roy King. A private family service has been held. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Nonie’s Life at Earl Grey Golf Club, 6540 – 20th Street S.W. on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
