Obituary of Helen Marguerite KASIAN

April 30, 1922 – November 5, 2011 Helen Kasian beloved wife of Michael Kasian of Calgary, passed away gracefully on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Helen was born in Point Aconi, Cape Breton in 1922. She moved out west to marry Michael in 1951 and they settled in Calgary. As well as devoting herself to her family for her whole life, she was employed as an exemplary manager of Birks, Chinook Centre for 18 years. Helen was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Besides her loving husband of 60 years, Michael, she is also survived by her five blessed and fortunate children and their spouses; Peter (Phyl), Ellen (Mike), Marilyn (Bob), Mark (Donna) and Michael (Liz); and eleven beautiful grandchildren that she loved very much. Helen is also survived by her indomitable and loving sister, Mary Lavery and many caring relatives from Cape Breton. A private family service will be held at a later date.
