Obituary of Cecil James PALMER

February 14, 1928 – November 3, 2011 Cec Palmer, beloved husband of Ella Palmer and father of Scott Palmer of Virginia and Mike MacGregor of Edmonton passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the age of 83 years. Cec was born in Calgary and spent his early years in Blackie, Alberta with his mother Agnes, his father Harold and his brother Ray of Calgary. Following time as a radio broadcaster, Cec spent his career in the Calgary oil patch serving in senior and executive land management roles with Chevron, ICG and other firms. Cec volunteered his time and provided leadership to several local, provincial and national organizations including the Air Cadet League of Canada, the RAUSI, Commissionaires, Calgary Stampede, Rotary, Masons, Shriners, and Jesters. Cec enjoyed a lifelong love of aviation, receiving his commission in 1960 and serving with 403 Squadron in Calgary. He will be deeply missed by his family. A Celebration of Cec’s life will be held at The Calgary Aero Space Museum (4629 McCall Way N.E.) on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
